MLRO required to lead the financial crime function for a leading Private Bank in London.

Role requirements & responsibilities:

• Own and maintain policies, procedures, systems and controls for Financial Crime based on up-to-date knowledge of AML, CTF, PF, Sanctions, ABC, Tax Evasion and Fraud-relevant law, guidance and industry practice, in particular UK & EU legislation, JMLSG Guidance notes and FATF material.

• Ability to incorporate in the Financial Crime framework relevant aspects of Market Abuse and Cyber risk.

• Act as the primary liaison for the external authorities in dealing with regulatory enquiries and visits, court orders, police enquiries, etc.

• Lead and manage the financial crime team, demonstrating a commitment to training and development.

• Conduct monitoring to identify themes and trends, proactively address them with solutions.

• Subject matter expert and lead on all sanctions-related matters.

• Prepare and submit to senior management and Group Compliance an annual MLRO report in line with FCA SYSC provisions.

• Work with Group and other stakeholders on cases with a higher degree of reputational risk.

• Collaborate with other departments (e.g. Internal Audit, Group Compliance, etc.) to direct Financial Crime issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution.

• Proactively produce guidance to assist business employees in understanding their obligations.

• Deliver regulatory reporting to FCA, PRA and other regulatory bodies where the bank operates (via local compliance units).

• Experience working as an MLRO or an experienced DMLRO at a Private Bank
