Compliance Manager with a deep understanding of the commodities derivative market is required to support the Head of Compliance & MLRO in managing the daily operations of the Compliance Team at a leading international bank based in London.
As the Compliance Manager, you will be the go-to person for advisory questions, ensuring the compliance team effectively undertakes all day-to-day tasks. You will also take on the crucial responsibility as the DMLRO, providing ongoing regulatory advice to colleagues and business units on Financial Crime related matters.
Your role will involve implementing compliance-driven project initiatives and maintaining strong relationships with both internal teams and external parties. You will be responsible for building the firm's compliance infrastructure and acting as the compliance specialist for complex regulatory projects.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting the business lines by helping to implement solutions based on monitoring report findings and tracking these actions to completion. Advising management on regulatory control actions and providing accurate, concise MI reporting will be key aspects of your role. You will also offer front-office advice on trading and regulatory issues, acting as the compliance team's first point of reference when advising business units.
In addition to your advisory duties, you will be responsible for:
Reviewing and updating policies and procedures
Leading employee compliance training
Ensuring that the Know Your Customer (KYC) policies and procedures are written and periodically updated
Manage standard compliance registers and complete regulatory applications and returns
Design and deliver compliance training, ensuring that all employees are well-informed and compliant
To be considered for this role, you need to have a thorough practical knowledge of:
The commodities derivative market, particularly in base metals and energy.
Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for LME, NYMEX, COMEX, and ICE.
An understanding of OTC commodity and FX markets is essential.
Well-versed in EMIR, MiFID2, SMCR, and IFPR and familiar with Dodd-Frank regulations. Possess a deep understanding of Due Diligence rules for corporate entities and extensive experience with FCA rules, including COBS, SYSC, MAR, and SUP.
