Are you an expert in data protection and information security looking to take your career to the next level?

Join our client a highly respected retail and financial services business as a Data Privacy & Information Security Specialist. In this role you will play a key role in safeguarding the company’s information assets across a global structure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Data Privacy and Information Security governance in compliance with industry regulations.

  • Maintain and enforce Data Protection and Information Security policies, ensuring they are up-to-date with relevant legislation.

  • Oversee the management of Personally Identifiable Data (PID) across various company systems.

  • Provide expert advice on Data Processing and Information Security, ensuring compliance across all operations.

  • Deliver compliance training and provide reports to senior leadership on the company’s adherence to data protection laws.

  • Lead risk assessments, guide stakeholders on mitigating security risks, and respond to inquiries from compliance regulators.

  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive Information Security Management System (ISMS) in alignment with ISO27001 standards.

  • Proactively manage and resolve information security incidents, working to prevent recurrence.

Key Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of Data Protection and Information Security practices, including current security issues and trends.

  • Strong understanding of ISO27001/27002 standards and their application.

  • Familiarity with relevant data protection legislation and industry requirements.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.

  • Strong understanding of networking technologies, web services, cloud security, and their security implications.

  • Experience in or with the financial services industry is preferred.
