Role Overview & Purpose
Leading wealth and investment management firm are seeking to hire an experienced Lending Manager due to recent acquisitions having doubled the firms loan book.   Reporting directly to the Head of Lending, and leading a small team, the role will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operational aspects of client lending including the processing of credit applications and ongoing queries.

The firm operates a very flexible / hybrid working policy, with 1 - 2 office days required per week alongside flexible start / finish times.  The firms head office is located in Liverpool.  Alongside the base salary is a very competitive benefits package to include annual bonus, health care, generous holiday allowance and employer pension contribution.

Role responsibilities.

  • Ensure credit applications are processed in accordance with the firms approved lending mandate and are compliant with the requirements of the FCA’s CONC and MCOB regulations for creditworthiness and affordability.
  • Review credit risk exposures and stress analysis performed for all lending positions, determining any required action to address increased risk as set out in lending policies and escalation to the Head of Lending.
  • Support the lending team managing the client loan book including by providing guidance for query management and complex cases.
  • Perform process checks, on a quarterly basis, reviewing the accuracy of assumptions and controls in place.
  • Produce MI to be reported to the Head of Lending at agreed frequencies that summarises positions and flags potential credit / regulatory issues.
  • Attend the Lending Sub-Committee as minute taker and support the presentation of the current lending profile and future activity for committee discussion.

Personal Attributes & Experience

  • Essential CII/CeMAP Level 3 Mortgage Advisor/ qualification.
  • Strong background in lending
  • Thorough understanding of FCA’s CONC and MCOB regulation.
  • People management experience.
