The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting mortgage applications in line with company policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities of the Mortgage Underwriter:

  • Assessing and underwriting mortgage applications in line with company policies and procedures

  • Ensuring all applications are processed accurately and in a timely manner

  • Providing support and guidance to colleagues as required

  • Continuously developing knowledge of the mortgage industry and regulatory requirements

Required knowledge and experience for the Mortgage Underwriter role:

  • Previous experience in mortgage underwriting

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines

  • Good understanding of mortgage industry regulations and requirements
