MERJE is seeking a highly astute Management Accountant for a highly entrepreneurial, privately owned fast-growing start up bridging lender who is entering their next phase of growth and has exciting plans for the future

The Role:

The Management Accountant will report direct to the Finance Director and play an important part in shaping the financial future of the business. Initially would also be supporting the FD in reviewing the integrity of the existing data

Key Responsibilities of the Management Accountant:

• Preparation and production of Management Accounts for both internal and external use
• Managing the month end process including accruals, prepayments, Fixed Assets, Loan interest
• Bank Reconciliations – managing all bank postings and ensuring bank is fully reconciled every month
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations
• Assist with the Statutory Accounts and Audit process
• Work with the FD and the rest of the team to automate process
• Manage all postings for loans and investor funds including interest payments and fees

Required knowledge and experience for the Management Accountant role:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or Finalist
• Proven experience in a finance role, preferably in lending or financial services or PE Backed Business
• Demonstrable experience of preparing Management Accounts
• Experience of Statutory Accounts / Audit would be highly desirable
• Knowledge of IFRS 9 would be a bonus
• Proven Process improvement / automation experience
• Possess excellent communication / time management and presentation skills
