MERJE is engaged on a search for an exceptional Head of Compliance for a leading insurtech company looking to set up in the UK. This pivotal role will spearhead regulatory strategy and compliance operations for the company’s UK market entry and expansion. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial services compliance, particularly within the insurance sector.

Salary:               £90,000 – £110,000

Location:           Fully remote (occasional need to be in London)

This innovative insurtech platform is one of Asia’s largest digital insurance provider, expanding financial access through automation and digital scale. As they enter the UK market, they seek to establish themselves as a trusted, compliant, and responsible player in the financial services sector.

The Role

The Head of Compliance will be instrumental in designing and enforcing compliance frameworks that enable safe scaling of digital financial services. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the regulatory strategy of a fast-growing insurtech company in the UK market.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain compliance frameworks aligned with UK regulatory requirements, especially FCA rules
• Lead regulatory readiness for market entry, licensing, and ongoing supervision
• Build policies and controls covering AML, KYC, data privacy, and consumer duty
• Establish monitoring, testing, and reporting processes for ongoing compliance
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure compliant execution of business strategies

Required knowledge and experience

• 8+ years of compliance, risk, or regulatory experience within financial services
• Minimum 1 year experience in the insurance industry
• Deep understanding of UK regulatory frameworks, including FCA rules
• Proven ability to design policies and manage complex compliance programmes
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
