Location: Chiswick – Hybrid (min 2 days) with some travel to Birmingham offices as required – Company Induction would be 2 days in Birmingham (with travel expenses paid)

About the Role:
Our client, a successful and growing organisation operating within the education and training sector, is seeking a Finance Assistant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will support the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and efficiently while contributing to the smooth running of the finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Manage supplier payment runs
- Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies
- Respond to supplier queries professionally and efficiently
- Assist with the preparation and issuing of customer invoices
- Support credit control activities, including monitoring outstanding balances
- Maintain accurate customer records within the finance system
- Post journals and maintain financial records
- Assist with month-end accruals and prepayments
- Support balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure transactions are correctly coded and recorded
- Provide administrative support to the finance team
- Assist with audit requests and financial documentation
- Support process improvement initiatives and financial controls
About You:
- Previous experience in a finance, accounts or bookkeeping position
- AAT qualified or currently studying towards AAT (or equivalent) would be preferred but not mandatory and study support is also on offer
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Excellent numerical skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative and flexible approach to work
- Experience using accounting software
- Exposure to month-end processes and reconciliations
