About the Role

Award winning financial services firm operating within the investments and alternative assets sectors are seeking a senior compliance leader to design, implement, and oversee a Group-wide Compliance Monitoring Framework operating across all jurisdictions and business lines.  This is a strategic leadership role responsible for ensuring compliance monitoring is risk-based, globally aligned, and forward-looking, while remaining responsive to local regulatory requirements. The role holder will play a critical role in shaping how compliance risk is identified, assessed, and escalated across the organisation.

The ole will also act as a key advisor to Boards, Executive Committees, and senior Compliance leaders, providing thematic insights, systemic risk analysis, and root cause identification derived from monitoring outcomes.  In addition, you will lead the development of global monitoring capability, including methodologies, tools, training, and governance standards, driving a culture of continuous improvement, consistency, and excellence.

The firm have their head office located in Hampshire, and whilst office presence would be preferred and a hybrid policy is in place, for the right candidate remote working is an option.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and evolution of a global Compliance Monitoring Framework across all jurisdictions and business lines
  • Chair the Compliance Monitoring governance forum
  • Provide proactive insights on systemic risks, themes, and emerging issues to Boards and ExCo
  • Own the Group Monitoring Framework, including methodologies, review types, scoping rules, and risk rating models
  • Ensure alignment with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and regulatory expectations
  • Oversee jurisdictional monitoring plans to ensure consistency with Group standards
  • Analyse monitoring results to identify root causes, thematic risks, and systemic issues
  • Translate insights into actionable compliance improvements and governance reporting
  • Build global monitoring capability through tools, templates, and training frameworks
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing, cross-jurisdictional monitoring team

About You

  • Deep experience in compliance monitoring, audit, or regulatory risk roles
  • Strong knowledge of risk-based testing methodologies and thematic review design
  • Proven ability to identify systemic risk indicators and root causes from complex data sets
  • Experience with regulatory change management and horizon scanning
  • Strong track record of leading senior, multi-jurisdictional teams
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence Boards, ExCo, and regulators
  • Proven capability in coaching, mentoring, and developing compliance professionals
