The opportunity
MERJE are delighted to be partnering a dynamic and ambitious FCA Compliance Consulting firm as they seek to expand their Advisory practice with the addition of a Senior CASS Consultant. The firm partners predominantly with businesses across the financial services sector, providing tailored advisory support and experienced professionals to help those businesses navigate complex regulatory challenges. Clients include retail banks, consumer credit firms, life and pensions providers, wealth and asset managers, and private equity organisations.
Required is an experienced Senior Consultant with strong FCA regulatory knowledge and CASS expertise who enjoys solving complex business challenges, working directly with clients, and contributing to the growth of a fast-paced consultancy. You will lead advisory engagements, provide regulatory subject matter expertise, build lasting client relationships, and mentoring junior consultants.
The firm offer an extremely flexible hybrid working policy with 1 office day per month required and the remainder being spent working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver high-quality CASS advisory engagements.
- Develop practical, tailored solutions that help clients meet their regulatory and operational obligations.
- Produce high-quality reports, presentations, training materials, project plans, gap analyses, and risk assessments.
- Provide subject matter expertise on FCA regulation, particularly the Client Assets (CASS) regime.
- Manage project delivery, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
- Build trusted relationships with clients and act as a key point of contact throughout engagements.
- Mentor and support junior consultants and contribute to recruitment activities.
- Collaborate across the business to support strategic initiatives and continuous improvement.
About You
You’ll be a commercially minded consultant who combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
You will have:
- Strong knowledge of the FCA regulatory framework and supervisory landscape.
- Demonstrable experience working with the Client Assets Sourcebook (CASS).
- Experience delivering governance, risk, and compliance advisory services.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and regulatory gap analysis skills.
- Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives.
