Head Of Risk
A leading FCA-regulated financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Risk to lead and enhance its enterprise risk management framework.
This is a high-profile leadership opportunity to shape the organisation’s risk strategy, governance framework and operational resilience agenda, while working closely with Executive leadership and the Board.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the development and continuous improvement of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
- Designing and embedding a risk-based governance programme across the business.
- Developing risk identification, assessment, mitigation and monitoring processes.
- Owning the Risk Appetite Framework, Risk Registers and Board reporting.
- Partnering with senior stakeholders to ensure risk is embedded into strategic decision-making.
- Leading the organisation’s Operational Resilience strategy and framework.
- Overseeing incident management, root cause analysis and control improvements.
- Working closely with Internal Audit to ensure effective oversight of key risks.
- Producing insightful reporting for Executive Committees and the Board.
- Driving a strong, positive risk culture across the organisation.
- Leading and developing a high-performing risk team.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced risk professional who can demonstrate:
- A strong background in Enterprise Risk, Operational Risk, Governance or Risk & Compliance leadership.
- Experience working within an FCA-regulated environment (Insurance would be an advantage)
- Strong knowledge of enterprise risk frameworks and governance best practice.
- Experience leading Operational Resilience programmes.
- Understanding of SMCR, AML and wider regulatory requirements.
- The ability to influence, challenge and engage senior stakeholders at Executive and Board level.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to build and develop successful teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
