Remote File Reviewer – Pension & Investments | 12-Month FTC
Location: Remote
Contract: 12-Month Fixed Term Contract
Salary: c.£50,000, dependent on experience
MERJE is currently partnered with a growing financial services firm to recruit an experienced File Reviewer on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is an opportunity for a strong compliance professional to join an established Investments team, working with a broad range of clients across the investments and wealth management sector.
The role will provide practical, technical compliance support across a variety of client engagements, including suitability reviews, compliance audits, regulatory projects and technical advisory work. You’ll manage multiple assignments, build strong client relationships and provide high-quality, commercially focused compliance advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver day-to-day compliance consultancy and support to clients across the investments and wealth sector
- Conduct FCA suitability file reviews, compliance audits and regulatory assessments
- Provide advice and challenge on complex and technical compliance matters
- Support regulatory and client projects from planning through to delivery
- Review and assess investment and financial advice against applicable FCA requirements
- Work across multiple client engagements, managing deadlines and competing priorities effectively
- Develop technical papers, guidance, manuals and internal compliance materials
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Contribute to the mentoring and development of junior team members
- Keep up to date with regulatory developments and support clients with the implementation of relevant changes
- Identify areas of risk or concern and provide practical recommendations for improvement
- Support the delivery of FCA applications and wider regulatory projects where required
Experience & Skills
We’re looking for an experienced compliance professional with:
- Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning or equivalent
- Strong experience within financial services compliance
- A detailed understanding of the retail investments and wealth management sector
- Proven experience conducting suitability file reviews and compliance assessments
- Strong knowledge of the FCA Handbook, particularly COBS, SYSC, MiFID II, MiFIDPRU and SM&CR
- Experience providing technical compliance advice to internal or external stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently
- Strong organisation and project management skills, with experience managing multiple pieces of work simultaneously
DB pension transfer review experience, DBAAT knowledge and advanced CII qualifications are desirable but not essential.
