Senior Manager – Financial Crime Advisory
Senior Manager – Financial Crime Advisory
MERJE is supporting a growing regulatory consulting firm with the appointment of a Senior Manager or Associate Director (DOE) to join its established Financial Crime Advisory practice.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Manager who is already operating at a more senior level but hasn’t had the opportunity to progress within their current firm. For the right individual, the business is open to offering a step up to Associate Director level, provided they can demonstrate the commercial and leadership experience required.
The appointment is driven by organic growth, with the business continuing to secure new projects and experiencing strong demand for its services. The Financial Crime practice is already well established, with an experienced consulting team and dedicated business development support generating new opportunities.
The successful candidate will focus on developing client relationships, converting opportunities into new projects and supporting the continued growth of the practice, alongside overseeing delivery and managing the team.
Clients typically include retail banks, insurance firms, wealth managers and IFAs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing existing and new client relationships, identifying opportunities and winning new business.
- Working alongside the business development team to convert opportunities into consulting engagements.
- Leading client proposals, pitches and commercial discussions.
- Managing and developing a team of Financial Crime consultants.
- Overseeing the delivery of Financial Crime advisory and transformation projects.
- Supporting the Partner with the ongoing management and growth of the practice.
To be successful, you will need:
- A strong background in Financial Crime regulatory consulting, ideally operating at the senior end of Senior Manager level.
- Demonstrable experience generating and winning new business, with clear examples of your personal contribution.
- Experience managing teams and leading complex client engagements.
- Strong technical knowledge across AML, sanctions, transaction monitoring and wider Financial Crime risk management.
- A polished and credible approach, with the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
- The ambition and ability to take on greater commercial and leadership responsibility.
This is particularly suited to a Senior Manager who enjoys the commercial side of consulting and is looking for an opportunity to progress. The business is not expecting someone to build a practice from scratch, but rather to take advantage of an established client base, existing pipeline and business development support to help drive its continued growth.
Salary: Circa £125,000-£130,000 depending on experience.
Location: Remote-first, with occasional client meetings and travel as required.
