MERJE is looking for a Head of Finance/Finance Director for a leading insurance company. The role involves overseeing the finance department, monitoring business performance, managing the audit process, and providing financial advice to senior executives. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, excellent mathematical and analytical skills, and strong IT skills.

Salary: c£80,000+ depending on experience

Location: Remote  – occasional travel to the office in the Midlands

The Role

The Head of Finance/Finance Director will oversee the finance department, monitor business performance, manage the audit process, and provide financial advice to senior executives. Key Responsibilities of the Head of Finance/Finance Director:

• Develop and control the Company’s annual operating budget to ensure that all financial targets are met.

• Oversee the preparation of the Company’s financial accounts to ensure that these are presented accurately and on time.

• Ensure that all of the company’s financial practices are in line in statutory regulations and legislation.

• Interpret complex financial information and provide updates and information as needed.

• Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions.

Required knowledge and experience for the Head of Finance/Finance Director role:

• Minimum 10 years experience in finance.

• Financial services experience, preferably in insurance.

• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.

• Exceptional leadership and organisational skills.

• Outstanding communicational skills, both written and verbal.
