We will only consider candidates from within a regulated Bank or Financial Services institution with recent banking management accounting experience MERJE is delighted to be working with an award-winning Financial Services / Banking organisation to recruit a Management Accountant as part of their continued growth and to play a key role in supporting the Financial Controller and the wider business. The RoleAs a Management Accountant, you'll sit at the heart of the Finance function, supporting high-quality financial control, reporting, and business-wide initiatives within a regulated banking environment. This is a great opportunity for a proactive accountant who enjoys working in a fast-paced, progressive environment and wants to make a genuine impact. Key Responsibilities Produce monthly management accounts, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations, P&L analysis, and CFO-level commentaryManage intercompany accounts, recharges, and cost centre reportingPrepare and support tax submissions (VAT, CT, ERS, P11D), working with external advisors where requiredAssist with half-year and year-end accounts in line with IFRS and LSE requirementsSupport and coordinate the external audit process, ensuring timely and smooth deliveryIdentify opportunities to improve financial controls, processes, and automationBusiness partner with stakeholders across the Group on projects and initiativesProvide day-to-day oversight and support to junior team members About You Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)Experience of Management Account preparation & production from within the UK Banking Industry is essential with the gravitas to explain variancesStrong technical accounting knowledge with IFRS exposureExperience of Tax accounting (Vat returns etc) would be desirableAdvanced Excel skills (complex formulas, models, analysis)Experience with ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite, Sage, Dynamics desirable)A proactive mindset with an interest in process improvement, automation, and changeStrong communicator, able to influence and collaborate with non-Finance stakeholders What's in It for You?
