Financial Crime Monitoring Officer

A leading financial institution is looking for a Financial Crime Monitoring Officer to support its financial crime compliance function.

This Financial Crime Monitoring Officer will focus on financial crime monitoring activities, ensuring adherence to financial crime policies, and identifying areas for improvement in line with financial crime regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in delivering the financial crime monitoring plan, conducting assurance reviews, testing, and reporting on financial crime controls.
• Identify financial crime areas for improvement in processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with AML, fraud, sanctions, anti-bribery, and corruption regulations.
• Track and support the resolution of identified financial crime issues, ensuring timely action and updates.
• Monitor financial crime regulatory developments and assist in assessing their impact on financial crime compliance.
• Support the development and delivery of financial crime training across the business.

Skills & Experience:

• Strong knowledge of financial crime regulations, including AML, CTF, fraud, and sanctions, as well as UK regulatory frameworks such as JMLSG, FCA Financial Crime Guide, and Wolfsberg Group principles.
• 2-3 years’ experience in financial crime monitoring, including control testing, sampling, and report writing.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and the ability to identify areas for process improvement.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to liaise across different levels of the organization.
• A relevant financial crime qualification (e.g., ICA) is desirable.
