Head of Compliance
MERJE is seeking an experienced Head of Compliance to lead the second line and Compliance team in an FCA-regulated environment within the Automotive sector. This crucial role involves setting compliance strategy, embedding strong conduct standards, and acting as a primary contact for regulators. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of regulatory compliance, financial crime prevention, and risk management.
£100,000 – £120,000
Location: Buckinghamshire (Hybrid, 2-3 days in office required)

The Role
As Head of Compliance, you will report to the General Counsel and play a vital role in shaping the company’s compliance framework. This position offers an opportunity to lead a small team of compliance professionals and drive a culture of compliance while enabling career development within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities of the Head of Compliance:
- Develop and implement compliance programmes and strategic initiatives
- Lead adherence to Consumer Duty regulations and partner with operational leadership
- Design and deliver an annual Compliance Monitoring Plan
- Conduct regulatory horizon scanning and advise on developments
- Maintain proactive dialogue with regulatory bodies and external auditors
Required knowledge and experience for the Head of Compliance role:
- 10+ years’ experience in compliance or regulatory leadership roles
- In-depth understanding of the UK regulatory framework, including FCA Handbook
- Proven ability to design and lead compliance monitoring programmes
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and analytical abilities
