Salary: Circa £45k plus bonus up to 5% and benefits

The Role:

As a Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the company’s financial integrity. You’ll be working in a team where the purpose is to manage the core financial accounting for the Company delivering financial control and reporting.

Key Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant:

• Lead all the groups Tax processes including Corporation Tax, quarterly IPT, VAT and CT61 submissions and assess the impact of new Tax regulations.
• Owning the accounting and reporting.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts
• Lead the preparation of year-end financial accounts ensuring a smooth audit process
• Drive initiatives across management accounts to enhance controls, challenge existing processes, and improve reporting speed and accuracy.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial matters
• Ensure Compliance with accounting standards and regulations

Required knowledge and experience for the Financial Accountant role:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Demonstrable experience of Corporation Tax and VAT returns
• Proven experience of financial accounting from ideally within the regulated Insurance or Financial Services sector but will consider all Industries
• Demonstrable experience of leading Tax processes, ideally from a large business
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Advanced Excel experience (Pivots / VLOOKUP’s)
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities with the confidence to engage with stakeholders
