A great opportunity has arisen for a Compliance Assurance Officer to support the delivery of high-quality oversight of an outsourced mortgage servicing partner. The role focuses on outcomes monitoring, performance assessment, and broader assurance activity to help ensure good customer outcomes and strong regulatory compliance.
You will work closely with operational stakeholders, undertake structured monitoring, analyse performance trends, and support the production of governance reporting. This is an ideal role for someone with experience in compliance assurance or oversight who is looking to broaden their skill set within a regulated mortgage environment.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct outcomes monitoring in line with the Outcomes Monitoring Framework, ensuring high-quality, well-evidenced testing.

Deliver wider assurance activity as directed, supporting delivery of the Integrated Assurance Plan.

Provide clear feedback on findings to internal colleagues and the outsourced servicing partner.

Meet regularly with servicing partner representatives to understand root causes of issues and agree appropriate actions.

Develop and maintain testing sheets, action trackers and audit trails using SharePoint.

Maintain accurate records of assurance activity, including rationales for findings and tracking of required actions.

Keep the Head of Risk & Compliance updated on testing progress, key issues, and action remediation.

Analyse servicing partner performance data (e.g. SLAs, quality results) and highlight areas requiring further challenge or investigation.

Support preparation of quarterly performance updates for senior governance forums.

Contribute insights to the Outcomes Monitoring Dashboard.

Liaise with operational colleagues to assess conduct risks and ensure adequate mitigation.

Build strong working relationships with servicing partner teams to stay aware of emerging issues.

Support the wider Compliance function in resolving regulatory compliance concerns.

Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and operational developments.
-
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and data protection requirements.

Carry out any other duties relevant to the role.

Required Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential:
-
GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
-
Good working knowledge of iConnect.
-
Understanding of MCOB, CONC, data protection, money laundering regulations and associated regulatory expectations.
Desirable:
-
A-Levels or equivalent.
-
CeMAP Level 3.
-
Working knowledge of financial crime and data protection legislation.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
-
Experience in monitoring within an oversight or assurance function.
-
Experience in mortgages.
-
Strong stakeholder management skills.
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Ability to navigate iConnect to source relevant data.
-
Ability to apply FCA regulation (Consumer Duty, MCOB, CONC, SYSC) in file reviews.
-
Strong attention to detail and analytical capability.
-
Able to identify trends, prioritise effectively, and present findings clearly.
-
Ability to recommend proportionate, effective actions to address issues.
Desirable:

Experience advising on FCA rules and expectations.
-
Ability to identify root causes and influence the servicing partner to address them.

Experience managing complex issues.
