MERJE is seeking a highly skilled B2B Underwriter for a leading FinTech company specialising in global bank payments. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing organisation, assessing creditworthiness and managing risk for a diverse portfolio of clients. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in safeguarding the company’s financial health.

This innovative FinTech company processes over $130 billion in payments annually across 30+ countries. They use AI-powered solutions to improve payment success and reduce fraud, with open banking connectivity to over 2,500 banks. The company is headquartered in the UK with offices in multiple countries.

The Role

As a B2B Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating creditworthiness, conducting risk assessments, and developing strategies to mitigate potential credit losses. This role requires a high degree of autonomy and the ability to make informed decisions quickly. The B2B Underwriter will work closely with sales teams and senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform credit risk reviews and high-risk onboarding processes for prospective customers
• Review complex credit decisions and make final determinations on approvals or conditions
• Manage existing customer risk, including limit increases and changes to holding periods
• Conduct continuous monitoring of existing portfolios and adapt risk mitigation tools as needed
• Participate in executive-level deal reviews and advise on risk-adjusted pricing

Required knowledge and experience:

• Previous experience in B2B credit underwriting at a comparable scale
• Deep understanding of financial statement analysis for SMEs and large corporations
• Knowledge of risks inherent to bank-to-bank payments businesses
• Proficiency in data analytics and BI tools
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
