A CDD Analyst is required for a leading investment manager to support day-to-day Client Due Diligence (CDD) activities, liaising with colleagues globally across the business.
You will be responsible for all aspects of CDD for clients within the charity and not-for-profit sector, supporting the Global MLRO with the CDD element of the firm’s Financial Crime Framework, policies, and procedures.
As an experienced CDD Analyst, you will have a strong understanding of financial crime risks associated with charitable organisations, foundations, and trusts, taking a risk-based approach to client reviews. Prior experience conducting CDD on funds or institutional clients within an Asset or Investment Management environment is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct end-to-end CDD and EDD on new and existing charity and not-for-profit clients, including onboarding, periodic reviews, and trigger events.
- Perform adverse media, sanctions, and politically exposed person (PEP) screening, ensuring enhanced scrutiny where charitable funding structures or beneficiaries introduce higher-risk factors.
- Review complex ownership and control structures, including trustees, ultimate beneficiaries, and donor sources, ensuring transparency and compliance with AML/CTF standards.
- Escalate and assess adverse findings, sanctions, and PEP matches, determining risk ratings and recommending appropriate next steps.
- Present CDD findings and risk assessments to senior management and the MLRO, articulating rationale and recommendations clearly.
- Act as a subject matter expert for CDD queries, providing guidance to global business teams on client onboarding and ongoing monitoring.
- Support investigations into internal SAR submissions and assist with preparation of disclosure reports where required.
- Collate and analyse CDD metrics and MI to support governance reporting.
- Ensure processes, systems, and controls meet UK regulatory standards and align with the firm’s financial crime policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience performing CDD and EDD reviews within an investment management or financial services environment.
- Strong knowledge of charity and not-for-profit client structures and the associated financial crime risk typologies.
- In-depth understanding of AML, CTF, and Sanctions regulations, and how they apply to investment management activities.
- Ability to interpret complex ownership and control documentation, including trust deeds and governance frameworks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to present findings to senior stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and sound judgement in applying a risk-based approach.
- Professional qualifications such as ICA Certificate/Diploma in AML or ACAMS would be advantageous.
