This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive data-driven Transaction Monitoring strategies within 1st line Financial Crime risk management. The successful candidate will lead the delivery of TM solutions through data mining, portfolio analysis, and statistical analytics.

The Role

As the Financial Crime Lead Data Specialist, you will be the driving force behind Transaction Monitoring strategies and rules. Key Responsibilities of the Financial Crime Lead Data Specialist:

• Drive continuous improvement in FC Transaction Monitoring solutions and controls
• Deliver FC Transaction Monitoring rules & strategies, aligning with Risk Appetite and Typologies
• Apply model risk management principles and ensure effective monitoring of TM technology controls
• Define key data variables for statistical approach, reporting key risks & issues
• Mentor and support the development of data analysis capabilities within the team

Required knowledge and experience for the Financial Crime Lead Data Specialist role:

• Proven experience in Transaction Monitoring solutions strategies & rules for Detection & Prevention of Fraud & Financial Crime
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in data analysis and risk assessment
• Proficiency in using SAS / SQL for analysing complex data sets
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, compliance, corporate governance and risk management
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
