FCA Compliance & Claims Manager

Location: Cheshire (Predominantly Office-Based)

A rare opportunity to join a growing financial services business in a highly visible role reporting directly to the Managing Director.

MERJE are exclusively partnered with a successful and ambitious organisation as they look to appoint a FCA Compliance & Claims Manager, a unique position combining regulatory oversight with operational claims leadership during an exciting period of growth.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that is performing extremely well and has significant plans to continue scaling and expanding over the coming years. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, playing a key role in shaping the firm’s compliance framework while maintaining oversight of the claims process as the business continues its upward trajectory.

The role itself is somewhat unusual in that it blends Compliance leadership with Claims oversight. While the client would ideally welcome someone who brings experience across both disciplines, they recognise this combination may be difficult to find and are therefore keeping an open mind around background and experience.

As such, the role could suit either:

  • A Compliance professional within an FCA regulated firm who has had some level of exposure to claims oversight, or
  • A Claims professional who has developed strong regulatory awareness and experience operating within an FCA environment.

Key responsibilities will include maintaining and developing the organisation’s compliance and governance framework, providing regulatory guidance across the business, working closely with senior stakeholders to ensure best practice is embedded, and maintaining oversight of the end-to-end claims process to ensure strong customer outcomes and regulatory compliance.

The business is looking for someone who brings a commercial and pragmatic approach to compliance, rather than a purely tick-box mindset. Strong stakeholder management skills will be essential, as the role will involve working closely with experienced colleagues across the organisation and helping to guide the business as it continues to evolve.

In terms of personality, they are keen to find someone who is ambitious, proactive and willing to roll their sleeves up, comfortable operating in a standalone role, but equally able to collaborate effectively with colleagues across the wider team. The ability to challenge constructively while building strong working relationships will be key.

An IF4 qualification (claims specific) would be of particular interest but is by no means essential.

The company has built a fantastic culture and collaborative working environment, and because of this they value regular office presence and team interaction. The role is therefore largely office-based in Cheshire, although some flexibility may be possible for the right candidate depending on circumstances.

Salary will be flexible and entirely commensurate with experience, alongside a strong benefits package. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take on a broad and impactful role within a business that is growing and heading in a very positive direction, with genuine scope to broaden their experience across both compliance and claims disciplines.
