About the Role
As Senior Compliance Business Partner, you will act as a trusted adviser across the organisation, providing clear, pragmatic, and commercially focused compliance guidance.
You will support business objectives while ensuring products, customer journeys, operational processes, and strategic initiatives meet regulatory expectations and deliver positive customer outcomes.
The role involves close partnership with teams across Product, Marketing, Credit, and Operations, helping the business navigate regulatory change, embed Consumer Duty principles, and maintain a strong culture of compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely, risk-based compliance advice on new products, propositions, marketing activity, operational changes, and customer communications.
- Act as the primary compliance partner for key business areas, building strong relationships and influencing decision-making.
- Interpret FCA rules and guidance (including CONC, PSR, PRIN, Consumer Duty, SYSC, and DISP) and translate them into practical, actionable requirements.
- Support the design and review of customer journeys to ensure they are transparent, fair, and aligned with good customer outcome principles.
- Provide compliance input into business change initiatives including regulatory change programmes, digital transformation, and product development.
- Review and challenge management information, customer outcome testing, and conduct-risk indicators, identifying emerging risks and recommending improvements.
- Provide second-line oversight of financial promotions, customer communications, and product documentation.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of compliance frameworks, policies, and internal standards.
- Support preparation for regulatory engagement, thematic reviews, and supervisory requests.
- Mentor colleagues and contribute to the continuous improvement of the compliance advisory function.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in a Compliance Advisory role within an FCA-regulated financial services organisation, ideally within consumer credit.
- In-depth understanding of the FCA Handbook, including CONC, PSR, PRIN, SYSC, DISP, and Consumer Duty.
- Proven ability to interpret regulatory requirements and provide clear, practical guidance to senior stakeholders.
- Experience supporting business areas through product development, operational change, or customer journey design.
- Strong understanding of conduct risk and customer outcome frameworks in consumer credit lending environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously in a fast-moving environment.
