We’re looking for a Financial Crime Data Specialist to join our client on an 18-month fixed-term contract.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing and strengthening their Financial Crime analytical capabilities, using data, statistical analysis and modelling to help shape effective Fraud & Financial Crime controls and solutions.
You’ll be responsible for turning complex data into meaningful insight, supporting business change, identifying emerging risks and helping the organisation make better, data-driven decisions.
About the role
As a Financial Crime Data Specialist, you will:

Produce statistical analysis, modelling and predictive analytics to support Financial Crime decision-making.

Identify, interpret and communicate complex data and analytical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Work closely with Financial Crime MI analysts to develop deeper trend analysis, insight and complex analytical reporting.

Develop a strong understanding of the Financial Crime systems, controls and technologies, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Use data-driven reporting and benchmarking across sites to identify best practice, outliers and opportunities for improvement.

Support analysis around efficiency, forecasting, scalability, service performance, cost and risk reduction.

Apply best-practice statistical, analytical and modelling techniques to assess Financial Crime risks and support the calibration and optimisation of Financial Crime solutions.

Present analytical findings clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing, making recommendations for risk mitigation within the organisation’s risk appetite.

Support the ongoing development of the Financial Crime function through specialist data training, analytical techniques and modelling capability.

Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support business change and the effective management of Financial Crime risk.
About you
We’re looking for someone who is analytical, curious and proactive, with a genuine passion for using data to solve complex problems and improve Financial Crime controls.
You’ll ideally have:

Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills, with experience assessing risk through data.

Experience delivering quantitative analytics and model deployment.

Strong technical experience using SAS, SQL, Python and/or R to work with complex and large datasets.

Experience applying statistical, analytical and modelling techniques to Financial Crime, fraud or risk-related challenges.

An understanding of how data can be used to calibrate and optimise Financial Crime technologies and controls.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical findings clearly to a broad audience.

The ability to translate data and analysis into practical recommendations and business outcomes.

Experience within Financial Services is desirable, although not essential.

Knowledge of relevant legislation, compliance, corporate governance and risk management would be advantageous, but is not essential
