Meet your new Business Fives Charity Football Manchester champions… Us!
On June 23rd 2022, Team MERJE put our best feet forward as we entered Business Five's charity football tournament to raise money for Duchenne UK, and came out on top after defeating a myriad of local businesses throughout the rounds.
Adam, Connor, David, Jake, Michael and Paul took to the pitch in a brilliant event organised by Business Fives, which hosts regular football, golf and e-sports tournaments to raise money for vital charities throughout the UK.

Their work has seen them bring together hundreds of businesses across the country, raising over £200,000 since their launch, and it was our pleasure to get involved this time around.
It was a close call in the final round as the match went to penalties, but the MERJE team dug their heels in and managed to seal the deal against very worthy runners-up, JMW Solicitors.

On top of this victory, Michael was bestowed the prestigious Player of the Match award for the day, and David Herman set himself apart as top striker with an exceptional 14 goals scored in the tournament.
All in all, a superb event raising money for great causes whilst providing an exciting opportunity for teams from local businesses to get together in friendly rivalry, and the MERJE guys thoroughly enjoyed it.

Taking the top spot in the Manchester event means that our team has qualified for the national final, so watch this space for more football fun!
