Trees are essential to our planet. They provide us with oxygen, clean our air, and help to regulate the climate. But trees are also under threat. Climate change, deforestation, and other factors are putting trees at risk.
That's where City of Trees comes in. City of Trees is a charity that is dedicated to planting trees and restoring woodlands in Greater Manchester, UK. They believe that trees are essential to tackling the climate emergency, and they are working hard to plant as many trees as possible.
City of Trees has a number of different projects that they are working on, including:
Planting trees in urban areas
Restoring woodlands
Educating people about the importance of trees
City of Trees is a registered charity, and they rely on donations to fund their work. We have partnered with the organisation to support their work through our Every Review Plants a Tree pledge.
This means that, for every review we receive this year, we’ll donate the funds to plant a tree in the Greater Manchester region.
Not only this, but as a member of the City of Trees 100 Trees Club, we will be taking part in volunteer days throughout the year to plant trees and clean up Manchester’s green spaces.
Why are trees so important?
Trees are essential to the environment for a number of reasons. They:
Provide oxygen
Help to regulate the climate
Filter air and water
Provide habitat for wildlife
Improve air quality
Reduce noise pollution
Boost property values
Increase biodiversity
Promote physical activity and mental wellbeing
