Menopause Support: What the team says...

BUPA research has revealed that almost 900,000 women in the UK have left their jobs because of menopausal symptoms.

CIPD has found that a third of women said they had been unable to go into work because of their menopause symptoms.

With startling stats like these coming to light more and more, organisations must step up and embrace the need to provide workplace menopause support.

We've started taking steps to provide more support, and this is what our team has to say about it:

Karen, Support Assistant

It’s amazing to work for such a compassionate company that recognises the effects the menopause can have on women and normalises talking about it.I’ve always felt valued as a MERJE employee but initiatives like having a dedicated “menopause champion” make us women feel even more respected and understood.

Sally, Managing Consultant

As someone who is personally at the menopause age and suffering, I can't tell you how relieved I was to hear MERJE identifying and embracing the subject that affects so many women in the workplace. It really makes a difference knowing that MERJE has my back when I’m having a particularly bad day, and we have a menopause representative who I can turn to. There is still so much stigma attached to the menopause. As more companies embrace and deal with this subject by educating their teams, it can only be a good thing.

Elisha, Researcher

Menopause can have a significant impact on an individual’s well-being, so it is great to be part of a company that recognises and supports women going through this stage of life.

Jo, Head of Business Support

Many women in the workplace feel that menopause is a period in their lives that they just have to ‘get on with’.It’s a pleasure to be part of a business where menopause is not a taboo subject and we have excellent support on hand.

Andriana, Officer Manager & Researcher

Menopause is an important aspect of many employees' lives, and creating a supportive and inclusive environment is crucial. It's reassuring to see that MERJE is committed to providing support and resources for employees during different phases of their lives. It not only promotes employee well-being but also contributes to a more diverse and inclusive workplace overall.

Ed, MD & Co-Founder

A key to MERJE's success has always been maintaining an inclusive and supportive environment where our team can reach their potential. Having Ellie as our Menopause Champion helps employees feel comfortable in seeking assistance, so they're not struggling in silence. By understanding the physical and mental effects that menopause can have, we're better equipped as a business to provide the necessary support to our employees.
